When you walk into a building and switch on a light, plug in your laptop, or turn on an AC unit, there is an entire electrical system working quietly behind the scenes.
Electrical design is the process of planning that system.
It answers simple but important questions:
- Where will the power come from?
- How will it reach each room?
- How much power does the building need?
- Where should lights and receptacles be placed?
- What protection is needed to keep the system safe?
For a building, the journey might look something like:
Utility → Main Electrical Equipment → Panels → Circuits → Lights & Equipment
But electrical design isn’t just about drawing lines on a floor plan. It’s about making sure the system works, fits the building, can be constructed, and can be maintained.
As an electrical designer, I see the design process as a combination of engineering knowledge + practical thinking + coordination.And that’s what I want to explore here at Electrical with Sreyy — taking the electrical concepts we see every day and making them a little easier to understand. ⚡♡
